When I signed up for the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, I was aiming for the 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months. That bonus alone paid for a round-trip international flight. But the real test came after the honeymoon phase.

The $300 annual travel credit through Capital One Travel was easy to use.
I booked a hotel, the credit was applied instantly, and just like that, the real cost of the card dropped from $395 to $95.

I get 10,000 miles every year just for renewing the card — that’s $100 in travel value.
Between the travel credit and anniversary bonus, I already break even — and that’s before even using lounge access or earning more miles.

The lounge access is where this card really shines.
I’ve been in Capital One Lounges (they’re modern and well-stocked) and countless Priority Pass lounges.
Having a quiet, clean place to wait for my flight — with food, drinks, and Wi-Fi — makes a big difference.

I also earn 10x miles on hotels and rental cars, 5x on flights, and 2x on everything else. It’s one of the highest flat-rate earners I’ve used.
I’ve redeemed points through Capital One Travel and also transferred them to partners like Air Canada and Turkish Airlines for outsized value.

Some premium cards charge $600+ annually and offer similar perks.
I genuinely feel like the Venture X gives me 90% of the luxury for about half the price.

Whether I’m flying economy or business, domestic or international — the Venture X has become my go-to card for all things travel.
