Summary & Opinion

After using both cards extensively, I realized they serve very different purposes — and that’s a good thing.

The Wyndham Rewards Earner Card is ideal if you frequently stay at Wyndham properties like La Quinta, Days Inn, or Super 8. With 5x points on stays and 2x on common everyday categories, I earn rewards quickly. Plus, there’s no annual fee, and I get automatic Gold status, which means room upgrades and late checkout.

Meanwhile, the VentureOne is a more flexible travel card. I earn 1.25x miles on everything, and I can redeem those miles for flights, hotels, or transfer to Capital One’s travel partners. It’s also fee-free and has no foreign transaction fees, which makes it perfect for international travel.

If you’re loyal to the Wyndham brand, the Earner Card is the better pick for hotel stays.
If you want simple, flexible miles you can use anywhere, go with the VentureOne.

Personally, I keep both — one for booking Wyndham nights, the other for everything else.
