I’ve used this card on dozens of Delta flights — here’s everything I’ve learned, loved, and even what I’d improve.

When I first got the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card, I was just chasing the big welcome offer — and it really paid off.
I earned 90,000 miles after spending $4,000 in the first three months, and those miles helped me cover flights that would’ve cost me hundreds of dollars out of pocket.
But what made me stay with the card were the travel perks.
The first checked bag free, priority boarding, and 25% inflight savings make flying feel smoother and more efficient — especially on work trips where time and comfort matter.
A huge surprise benefit was the companion certificate I got on my first card anniversary.
My spouse and I used it for a trip to Florida — we only paid taxes and fees, and the savings were real.
If you’re trying to reach Delta Medallion® status, this card gives a boost by earning Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) just for spending on the card.
That’s something I’ve taken advantage of to work my way toward Silver and Gold tiers.
There’s a $250 annual fee, which I was hesitant about at first — but after running the numbers, the value I’ve gotten from miles, travel perks, and the companion ticket far outweigh the cost.
I also use the card abroad thanks to the no foreign transaction fees — which has saved me money (and headaches) on international purchases and travel bookings.
Overall, the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business Amex has become my go-to card for all things travel.
It pays off whether you fly once a quarter or every month — and especially if you’re loyal to Delta.
You can earn 90,000 bonus SkyMiles after spending $4,000 within the first 3 months of account opening.
Perks include your first checked bag free, priority boarding, companion certificate each year, 25% inflight savings, and no foreign transaction fees.
Yes! You earn MQDs based on spending, which count toward Medallion® elite status — a huge plus if you fly Delta often.
Definitely — there are no foreign transaction fees, making it a reliable option for travel abroad.
At $250, the fee is offset quickly if you use just a few of the card’s major perks like free checked bags and the annual companion ticket.
